The 2015 Seat Leon Cupra
All 2015 Cupra models are powered by dual injection 265PS or 280PS engines, although some models have different styling and design features. The exterior mirrors and front grille, exclusive wheels and red brake calipers can all be chosen as part of option packs which means you can style your Cupra exactly how you want it. There are also the options of the new Black, White or Orange lines to choose from which offer color detailing and distinctive badging to suit your taste.
The Cupra 280 combines performance with sharp design to create an enhanced driving experience. Performance packs, exclusively created for the Cupra 280, add even more punch with 19″ alloy wheels, available in black or orange, Brembo callipers and aerodynamic body styling. Even “Pilot Sport Cup 2” Michelin tyres are available as an option. Large, sports front grill, deep front and rear bumper, rear spoiler and diffuser and twin exit exhaust are all part of the Cupra’s performance appeal.
The Cupra 280’s interior has gloss black or chrome interior moldings and optional leather bucket seats with white stitching which further enhance the driving experience along with the exclusive leather bound, sports steering wheel, alloy pedal set, sports gear shift and interior led lighting which can be adapted via the Cupra Drive Profile – they glow red in Cupra mode, with the standard setting being white.
Performance is what the Cupra is all about. The new car has active suspension, or Dynamic Chassis Control which adapts to the road conditions giving amazing feedback from the road through the new progressive steering system. An electronic diff lock and haldex clutch keep cornering under control, whilst the switchable electronic stability program keeps a watchful eye on the rest. With Cupra drive mode engaged the gearbox, suspension, and throttle response is sharpened and the car emits a more aggressive exhaust note. Along with all the performance enhancements, come a host of safety features, such as a lane assist system, active headlights, tiredness recognition system, anti collision breaking system and front assist radar are there for added driver safety.
The Cupra 2.0 TSI 280 is Seat’s top of the range engine. It is capable of 0 to 60 in less than 6 seconds, and is available with either the DSG or with the manual gearbox. All models are limited to a 155 mph top speed and feature a maximum torque of 350 Nm across the wide range of 1,750 to 5,300 rpm to give great pulling power in all conditions.
Whilst it may still be seen as the poor relation to is close cousin the VW Golf GTI, the Seat Cupra is arguably a more rounded, focused and versatile sports hatchback.
