The New BMW M3 Saloon

The 2015 BMW M3 Saloon is a four-door, high-performance sports car. The completely redeveloped 431bhp, M TwinPower Turbo, straight 6-cylinder petrol engine offers exceptional performance across the rev range. With Technology taken directly from motor sport experience, such as the Active M differential, Adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic or the 7-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic make the driving experience exquisite. The driver cabin is perfectly laid out and the new M seats with their shell-like form offer side support and create a excellent connection to the vehicle. Everything on the new M3 saloon is designed with one thing in mind: the driving experience!

From The Outside

From first glimpse, it’s clear that the BMW M3 Saloon has been built for performance. You can’t miss the large air inlets and the sporty LED headlights. The car’s motorsport influences are obvious and the black double slats on the kidney grille and distinctive M emblem complete the look.

It’s perfect profile is all about performance too and combines the silhouette of a four-door saloon with the character of a high-performance sports car. Its black carbon fiber roof gives the car a low-slung look, reduces its overall weight and lowers its centre of gravity. The Aero Curtain and Air Breather with M side gills add an aerodynamic finishing touch.

At the rear, the four tailpipes leave nothing to the imagination, letting you know that this vehicle is built for speed.

Driving Experience

The new active M differential is designed to optimize traction and stability whilst accelerating away from turns, even during high speed cornering on uneven surfaces and without a doubt contributes towards the M3’s “on rails” like handling. Feedback through the steering is second to non and fast paced lane changing is effortless and inspiring. The new M3 also has Launch Control which allows the perfect pull away from a standing start., it even gives you a little starting flag symbol to let you know it’s in play! When you couple this to Adaptive M suspension, which offers electronically controlled shocks able to adapt to road and driving conditions in milliseconds and a low body weight (1595kg), due to an array of cutting edge construction materials from carbon to alloy, this is a very nimble handling car indeed. Even in comfort mode, whilst aimed at every day driving, you can still feel it’s motorsport under score.

Running Costs

Due to aerodynamic efficiency, and technical advancements such as Optimal Shift Indicator, Brake Energy Regeneration and BMW’s amazing start/stop function, the new M3 has a combined MPG of 32.1 from it’s 60ltr tank. It also has a CO2 emission of only 204.0 which from a car capable of 250KM/H…is pretty amazing! If you go for a manual gear box the car will start at £56,590 and with the amazing 7 speed, double clutch, Drivelogic transmission, it will set you back £59,085.
